Argentine winger keen to curb transfer rumours
Angel Di Maria is yet to be sounded out about a potential New Year move and claims he is fully focused on Benfica.
The Argentina international has emerged as a possible target for a number of Premier League clubs during the January transfer window.Manchester City are reported to be leading the hunt for his services while Chelsea, who have seen their transfer ban suspended, are also said to be keen.
Di Maria is well aware of the increasing clamour for his services, and has previously admitted to being flattered by the interest.
He is, however, keen to distance himself from the rumours and instead concentrate his efforts on helping Benfica to success.
"I have not spoken to anybody and the only thought in my head at the moment is that I would like to continue playing for Benfica for many years," he said.
While Di Maria has sought to curb the mounting speculation regarding his future, it appears he could be sold were the right offer to be made.
