Spaniards keen to keep defensive pair
Osasuna have warned Manchester City off moves for Cesar Azpilicueta and Nacho Monreal.
Reports in Spain have suggested cash-rich City are lining up a double swoop for the Osasuna duo after Mark Hughes was spotted watching the pair in action for Osasuna against Barcelona at the weekend.Hughes is thought to be keen to bolster his defensive options with new full-backs believed to be his top priority.
Right-back Azpilicueta is one of the most sought-after defenders in Europe with the likes of Arsenal, Valencia, Juventus, Fiorentina and Palermo all credited with an interest in the 20-year-old.
Monreal is also attracting interest from a host of sides and he has broken into the Spain squad this season.
Osasuna are keen to keep the pair and club president Patxi Izco insists they would only consider selling the duo if someone meets their buy-out clauses.
"There is nothing to discuss or negotiate," Izco told Diario de Noticias de Navarra.
"We rely on both players and they can leave the club in January only if will come some club who pay their clauses."
Azpilicueta is understood have a release clause of 15m euros (£13.5m) while in the case of Monreal it is of 12m euros (£10.8m).
